Tersa Carbide Planer Knives
Tersa™ Carbide planer knives are the perfect match for daily and extended use with all hardwoods, exotic woods and material with glue lines. Although the carbide steel is more brittle than high speed steel, if used on clean wood, it may last 8-10 times as long.
We offer free shipping on orders of $300 or over.
Your order will be processed in 1-2 business days. Prices shown are per knife.

I have tried various types of cutter heads in wood surfacing machinery. They all have their place. But as a primarily hand craft furniture studio tersa gets me where I want to be with a machined finish that is quickly and easily polished with hand planes. When sharp out of the box, the Tersa Carbide will finely finish even some of the most highly figured Curly Koa I work with. The material is so precious ( and insanely expensive at over $125 per BFT) that waste from inferior finishing devices is unacceptable and painfully expensive.
Tersaknives.com has for over a decade provided me with the fastest, cheapest, and most enjoyable service. Their cutting of the knives is clean and burr free. The packaging and speed of processing the order is second to none. I receive my orders usually in less than a week. The cost is typically 20 to 40% less than any other source in the world for a US based consumer. The sales staff is always promptly responsive, pleasant, and helpful to work with. I think of them as part of my business network , same as my wood suppliers and and other essential services my business uses.
I have hopefully brought more folks into the Tersaknives.com fold. It's one of the few companies that I can easily endorse after years of positive experience with them. Tersa knives are amazing but Tersaknives.com make them truly exceptional.
p.s. I also enjoy their monthly newsletters, 5 stars all the way around.
I was in a bind—suddenly dull blades after working with teak for the first time and Felder telling me I could not get replacements until July. Then I found TersaKives. Overnight delivery and carbide knives!!! I will always get my blades from them in the future. Thank you.
Thank you and I will definitely return for more
I only use hardwoods & M42 just isn’t hard enough to retain its edge. What i did not expect is the glass smooth surface these carbide knives leave, even after repeated glue lines in the same spot. They take a beating & keep on doing the job very well. I’m sold
